This article examines the "Full-Dive" concept (as seen in SAO) by defining its core requirements. It explains why conventional VR, which involves physical body movement, falls short of being a true Full-Dive. Furthermore, it details the five essential elements—Movement Suppression, Sensation Suppression, Motor Intention Acquisition, Simulation, and Sensory Feedback (Presentation)—and clarifies the positioning of Motion-Less VR within this framework.

Is Full-Dive Possible? | Artificial World Implementation Laboratory

Motion-Less VR（モーションレスVR）を中心に、運動の抑制・運動意図の取得・運動感覚提示を統合し、人工世界内で行為と感覚が完結するインターフェースの実現を目指します。

## Core page: /fulldive
Topic: Can full-dive be realized?

Definition used on the page:
Full-dive is a state in which actions within an artificial world are established with bodily and sensory consistency.

Key distinction:
VR that relies on real-world body movement tends to make the basis of action and sensory consistency depend on the real world (i.e., “leak” outside the artificial world), so it should be treated as distinct from full-dive.

Five elements (treated equally; no priority):
1) Motion suppression
2) Sensation suppression
3) Motor-intention acquisition
4) Simulation
5) Sensory presentation (including kinesthetic sensation; e.g., kinesthetic illusion)

Positioning:
Motion-Less VR is an engineering approach that aims to satisfy these establishment conditions within an artificial world.

BCI note:
Brain-direct approaches (BCI) are often discussed, but for general use they face major constraints (sensor limitations, required resolution, robustness, safety, and operational cost). A reasonable inference is that if brain-direct full-dive becomes practical for general use, the conditions addressed by Motion-Less VR would already have been satisfied beforehand.
